Wow – already on week 2 of our nursery rhyme challenge, this weekend whilst thinking outside the box – I had a brilliant idea… to merge my adulting with this week’s challenge. Eeeeeecccckkkk!
So from this point on I am the star… 🙂 My twinkling went a little something like this…
Hair first – I got some inspiration from Ella Bella with her tea inspired hair/body butter, and created a hot oil treatment (you will not even understand how chaffed I am with myself!)
Hot Oil Treatment: 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 5 shakes of jojoba oil (I say shakes because the bottle is not one that you can pour from), placed this in a glass bowl, and that glass bowl into a bigger bowl where I poured boiling water for the oils to heat up and merge…
I used coconut oil for its moisturizing properties (my hair is so dry…) – it is rich in vitamins and minerals and keeps hair shinny and healthy. It also helps with scalp health, fights infections and fungus, and assists hair growth, it’s got tons and tons of benefits! Jojoba oil is also great for moisturizing and anti-dandruff etc.
So I washed my hair – and then massaged the treatment into my hair… put a plastic bag on it with a towel over to protect my family from the crazy looking woman with a bag on her head walking around the house (also it keeps it warm). I left this on for around 20 mins..while that was busy I masked my face with my Isabella Garcia Revitalizing Mask. Did a base coat, pushed cuticles back (not in this order).
Note: please wear an old tee whilst doing the hot oil treatment as the oils stain your clothes!
I rinsed the treatment off and styled as normal **** insert huge break my hair takes like an hour!
In retrospect maybe I was a little heavy handed with the oil because my hair is so dry – you need to change the amounts as per your own hair. My hair was a little oily after the styling but also because my hair is so dry by tomorrow or the next day it will absorb all the excess oil.
Inspiration for my nails from My Spreadsheet Brain’s nail posts – I then added 2 coats of Burgundy Frost (Wet and Wild) to my nails and colour blocked (look see I learnt something) with a pinkish glitter (so it can shine – like a diamond in the sky) on the ring fingers.
It’s not professional – but it’s something and for me it’s something big!
May I just mention that I am extremely proud of myself at this point? I mean…I’m really adulting AND enjoying it.
I finished off my twinkling by dressing up.
(and then I forgot to take a picture – wap wap waaaaaahhhhh)
