So in my quest to unpack who I am, and to add to what you already know…I have decided to introduce an important part of my every day.

My fur babies!!!

So without further ado….

World meet DJANGO

He is so photogenic right? LOL! He turned 2 in July and acts like a grandpa. He is a cross between what I initially thought was a Yorkie and a Scottie, a Scorkie…but after meeting his mum months later I now believe that he’s just a pavement special – probably some Maltese in there too. This doesn’t make him any less special though. He is one of a kind.

He has a deep muffled kinda voice (this is one that hubster and I have created for him for when his looks tell us exactly what he is says *yes we are those people – we talk and answer in our dogs voices*), he is really love-able and has an extra long tongue with which he shares all his lovin’ – he likes to lick the face most, but if not possible, toes, legs, hands, clothes, pretty much anything really will do.

His claim to fame: Django hates getting his paws wet – watching him outside after some rain is hilarious (he tip toes around really slowly). He also doesn’t think he is a dog at all. And doesn’t hesitate to complain when he feels we have treated him like one.

This is a glammed up picture of him from my wedding last year – where he accompanied our girls down the aisle. If you look closely – you may even see his bow tie! He has huge separation anxiety and thee best temperament. I personally think that he loves me the most.

*Insert some tang a lang music* …. THIS is Khaleesi – she is 6 months younger than Django (same parents different litter) but she runs the show at home, she is thee naughty one. If you can even compare naughtiness… after she arrived at home we started losing stuff. And by stuff I mean socks, underwear, small objects, bigger objects (for example she chewed up a big part of our couch), and our sanity.

We got Khaleesi as a friend for Django (because of his separation anxiety), but none of us could have imagined that this little girl would have so much personality. Her voice is a bit more pitchy, and she has the right mix of puppy dog eyes and “screw it I’m doing it” to get her way around the house. *Django is a sulker – is this a boy thing?

She loves long walks – anywhere and trips away from home in the car. She climbs walls, and is a tad overweight – but I think this is from eating bugs which she loves too. Along with licking. She gets really, really, reaaaaaaaallllly excited when we get home from work – and smiles, like – really smiles – with teeth.

Most people won’t believe me – but if only you could see it.

Which brings me to…

Her claim to fame: One night when we came home from the rugby, we had obviously been away far too long for her liking. She was so excited to see me, she followed me into the bathroom and jumped into the toilet. Wakakakakakakakakaka!

(In her defense she was somehow trying to jump up on me and landed in to toilet!)

Anyway what I’m trying to say is – They are a big part of our every day lives – love them to bits.

They say “Until one has loved an animal, a part of your soul remains unawakened.” I believe this, with all my heart.

Django on the morning of his first birthday. “Its too early for singing guys”

And before I get too carried away.

If you too have fur babies please share some of their quirks with me. 🙂
