Imagine yourself in the toilet, doing your thing – you turn to flush 7-9 litres of water down the toilet to pass your average of about 200-400mls of urine, but instead you “skip the flush” and grab a bottle of Organico. Spritz or powder your wee, wash your hands and go. Would that be terrible? Could you imagine doing that? Most households in Port Elizabeth have had to resort to many new and innovative ways to save water. Our dams have recently hit a low of 18%, it has meant that every single household needs to pull together and help our city.
Adulting
Being a grown up is hard, this is how I have found it…
Where is everyone going? Most popular destinations for South Africans!
When I was a little girl, Sunday’s were my favourite days! It meant that my dad took our family for a drive along the marine, we would get ice cream and then we would go park at the airport and watch as the planes flew off into the clouds. My dad would play all our favourite tracks, and as we watched, my sister and I would make up stories about who was on each flight and where they were going and why. Our most popular destinations, of course, were of our favourite places, for the craziest reasons!
Sorry… Not sorry! Some alternatives so you can be #notsorry!
I am generally a nervous person, nervous anxious whatever you want to call it. Many people do however think I am not this. They’ll meet me and because I have the loudest laugh in the room, automatically I couldn’t be shy, nervous or anxious. So nervous that my favourite word, or rather the word I use the most in my vocabulary is… “Sorry”. Can you relate? I’m sorry even when I haven’t made a mistake or done anything wrong. Just sorry, I don’t even know why.
Black Panther bares all on DVD and Blu-Ray {+ WIN!}
Black Panther was one of those movies that if you weren’t planning to see it, after a day or so of it’s release, you had a sudden change of heart! Our household (and by this I mean my husband) are HUGE Marvel fans. I’ve mentioned previously, he is just one of those guys who finds comfort in the geekier things in life. It’s one of the things I enjoy most about him! I’ve learnt so much about the Marvel Universe and once you do, you can’t help but want to know it all!
12 years a mom – here’s what I’ve learnt
Motherhood is something that if I’m honest, I was never prepared for. None of us are though, right? You see though, I wasn’t the type of girl who imagined playing dolls with my child one day. I didn’t want the responsibilities and I didn’t yearn for the title. Perhaps that is why God took it upon himself to intervene and I fell pregnant at 19. Well God, and my own recklessness. At the time, I didn’t think it was best for me and my plans. Hindsight, however, is twenty-twenty and I have learnt so much. It was and is best, the best!
