When the Color Run first hit SA I don’t know a single person who didn’t want to join in on that fun, and every year thereafter the Color Run has just upped the ante – in all the best ways! This year Port Elizabeth you are in for a treat as they bring The Carnival Tour to the streets of the Bay. More clowning and less frowning!

The Happiest 5k on the Planet will be hitting PE at The Peoples Port: Port Elizabeth Harbour on the 9th December at 10h00. Participants begin the event in their Color Run White T-Shirts and complete it in a head-to-toe colour extravaganza… The best part of the fun is coming as your best version of the carnival. The Color Run loves dress-up! We will be joined by balloon shapers, stilt walkers, music, clowns and colour, colour, colour!

Color Run – Water Warriors

My absolute favourite part of the Color Run is their focus on the community and with the water crisis we face in PE this is our reality. The Color Run makes a conscious effort to ensure that the region only benefits from an influx of carnival show-masters. They are running a complete water free event! BIG THUMBS UP!

This means the organisers have gone to great lengths to minimise the mess and need for water-based cleaning. They’ll be using massive PVC sheeting, giant vacuum cleaners and muscles! Which means more jobs on the day for PE! Whoop whoop! They will be bringing in water – so as not to tap into the municipal water. Water-free porta loo’s will also be in use – they are seriously serious about saving water for us! This morning at 08:45 they will be chatting about all they will doing on Radio Kingfisher so tune in for more information!

They’re even going to be collecting the colourful race tees after the event – so they will ensure that they are cleaned (outside of PE) and distributed to a great cause!

Are you a Water Warrior for your city too?

That’s what they will doing for us to save water – there’s a little bit more on what YOU can do on their website too. Things like visiting their clean up area – wearing protective headgear and some other really cool tips! I am so impressed and I cannot wait to do this run knowing it’s actually a HUGE benefit to PE! I’m sure you can’t either! So here’s how you can win a set of double tickets for yourself and a friend worth R540! The organisers have graciously offered us 2 sets for 2 lucky readers!

If you would like to purchase tickets you can do that from the Color Run website here!
