This week I got into a book that totally changed the way I look at fear, praying and the way I use the one to combat and harness the other!

praying through fear

Considering how the last Christian Art Media book affected me, I was absolutely determined to read the rest of the books that I had received. I wasn’t really sure where to start but this book literally jumped at me! Praying is part of our everyday lives, and alas so is fear.

The Power of Praying through Fear is about finding the truth about our fears. Once you know the truth and what the word of God says about fear it teaches you to speak the truth until your heart and mind accept and believe sincerely and completely. This book gives you tools to help you not only discover your own deep fears but also build a foundation of truth. A foundation that will ultimately free you of those fears completely.

Stormie (best selling author of The Power of Praying series) has added steps to take immediately when fear strikes you initially in your thoughts. I thought that she gives readers a very interesting thought pattern around the concept of fear, and how fear can be a good thing and that God actually allows fear and that there is a fear that He wants you to have and how to live as a result of that fear.

The most common fears listed by Stormie are fear of rejection, failure, pain, loss, insignificance, evil, death and fear of the future. All of which can affect our lives so much more than we realise. Once these fears have been overcome the rest of the fears and feelings linked to those such as anxiety, dread, apprehension, alarm, agitation, panic, worry, deep concern or terror lose their power too.

A book that is sure to encourage uplift and restore you. Should you want to join me on this exciting journey, because I know we all want to be free of fear. You can grab a copy of The Power of Praying Through Fear at your nearest CUM Books or at their online store here.

In the Meantime – God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

  1. Sounds like a brilliant read.

I always have the best intentions when it comes to Christian non-fiction books, but for some reason, I just cannot get through them. I guess I will stick with podcasts and Christian novels!

    • Finding the time for reading is a huge challenge for me, but once I’ve made it becomes a lot easier. But I actually havent tried podcasts… maybe something I should look into xx
