Sometimes I find products, places and things that I absolutely adore and figure if we all in this trial and error together let me tell you what worked for me. :)
Black Panther was one of those movies that if you weren’t planning to see it, after a day or so of it’s release, you had a sudden change of heart! Our household (and by this I mean my husband) are HUGE Marvel fans. I’ve mentioned previously, he is just one of those guys who finds comfort in the geekier things in life. It’s one of the things I enjoy most about him! I’ve learnt so much about the Marvel Universe and once you do, you can’t help but want to know it all!
Introducing a potential husband to a girls father is no small feat, as many of you will know. There’s a lot of tension, expectations, and of course, there’s intent. I was especially nervous because my father, a biker, car extraordinaire, and a particularly difficult man has never been short of the wrong thing to say. Their first meeting didn’t go completely as planned. A love for cars, however, albeit differences of opinions about favourites and which are the best, bridged the gap, the generational gap between them. It even laid the foundation, for a beautiful relationship.
Reading the title of this post, most of you must be thinking, other than sleep? Nothing! Then again, moms know different. Even when you are sick, and everyone in your house is sick. Life needs to go on. Toddlers and preteens are rarely as tired as we require them to be in these times right? And of course, the show must go on! This last month, our house was invaded by a bunch of really sticky germs. Although we were home-bound (aka stuck in the house), we managed to make it fun. And this without too much input from the TV!
I often speak about my husband, commenting on the father that he is and isn’t. I feel like I honour him for the husband that he is more than anything, and obviously the support that he gives me. However, I hardly ever honour him for the Man of God that he is to our family. I do, in my prayers, but I don’t think I tell him enough. I definitely don’t show my gratitude that I have this man that takes his role as the head of our home so seriously. Whether in prayer or in action – He is what God’s called him to be and he blesses me with that every day.
But you, Man of God, flee from all this and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11
It’s why when Christian Art Gifts sent us their Man of God set, I was so thrilled. It was an opportunity to honour him, with some really cool gifts. The Lux Leather engraved keyring in a woody tin, serves as a sweet reminder to stay faithful. Keyrings are personal favourite for me, I love little secret treasures that you can carry around with you daily. Perfect for winter, a inscribed coffee mug is the kind of gift to inspire your special dude. Add in a good coffee and some biltong, for an extra treat.
Also included in this beautiful wood/leather finish set is a pen set, a display plaque, and a variety of stainless steel metal and black rings. A genuine leather engraved wallet – because men are always needing these! Who knows how their wallets get so tatty but Ian is always needing a new one. The gift I’m most excited about for Ian is the water bottle, double walled-vacuum sealed, this bottle is suitable for hot or cold insulation perfect for my gym loving caffeine geek husband! These gifts retail from R44.95 – R399.95 – coupled with other sets like “Best Dad Ever” they can be found online under the Father’s Day promotions currently on the CUM Books website here.
Moms are the best at shopping for those they love. I hope that these gifts for dad, give you fresh ideas for how to make his day special! I know the Man of God in our lives is going to be over the moon. I’m probably a little more over the moon than he, just because I get to give him a pat on the back. Not just for being an incredible dad, but for leading by example and being the head of our home!
In the Meantime – What have you planned to spoil the Man of God in your life?
If you follow any of the Eastern Cape bloggers your social media will be filled snippets from our experience. An event for bloggers and brands to learn, make connections and bridge the gap. The event this year was amaze-balls! I know how real the “fomo” can get, so a lowdown: EC Meet Up just for you is in order. Although each of these “meetups” has been awesome, they really do just get better! Personally, I attend with one goal in mind – get energized. Whenever I leave a meet-up I am completely refreshed and ready to be the best blogger I can be.
